TURNER AND ROYALTY
Lecture by James Hamilton
Entrance free, without ticket
Wine will be served after the lecture |
The theme of this year’s Pantzer Lecture marks the nation’s year-long celebrations of H.M. The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. James Hamilton will trace the evolution of Turner’s engagement with royalty, leadership and nationhood, from the Prince Regent to King Louis-Philippe, via Tadeusz Kosciuszko. He will also introduce a new work which shows Louis-Philippe to be a central figure in Turner’s late iconography.
